flash and IE incompatibility issue (ieupdate)

it seems our good friends at microsoft were having problems with earlier releases of the flash player and IE. this webpage addresses those issues:

the flash code needs to have jscript comments magically embedded around them.

this problem seems to be with any activex control, including quicktime, java, realmedia, etc.
